Laughter Echoes: The Funny Side of My School Life

"This kind of laughter no needs a reason , just friendship"

School was never just about books or exams for me ,it was filled with loud laughter, crazy plans, and beautiful chaos, all thanks to my friends. Looking back, I realize that the best part of my school life was how we turned ordinary days into unforgettable memories.I am going to tell some of them.

During our final days in Grade 13, a bunch of us were sitting in a circle, laughing our hearts out and sharing funny stories. Suddenly, a strict teacher walked into the classroom.

Everyone quickly went silent—except for my friend Anjel, who hadn’t noticed her arrival. She was laughing out loud while punching to Pesandi playfully. Her laughter echoed in the silence, and the teacher simply looked at her and said, “You are so loud.” We couldn’t stop giggling after that moment—it was so unexpected and perfectly timed.

When we were in Grade 11, we had regular Western Band practices. One day, while everyone was playing their instruments seriously, Pesandi and I decided to have some fun. We started singing a ridiculous song, totally off-key, just for laughs. Suddenly, the entire band room went silent. Our voices stood out like a sore thumb, and everyone, including our master, turned to look at us. We were embarrassed but we still laugh about it to this day.

There was a rule in our school seniors weren’t allowed to go into the primary section without permission. But my friend Bashi and I had this fun habit of sneaking in around noon just to watch cartoons with the little kids during their last 30 minutes of school. We loved those moments ,it was like escaping to a simpler, happier world. One day, a teacher caught us red-handed and complained to our class teacher. Luckily, she understood us so well and helped us get out of the trouble. I’ll always remember how sweet she was for saving us!

Oh—and the snacks! Our school had a few rose apple trees and mango trees near the primary section. When we were in Grade 13, we used to pluck them secretly and girls brought salt, chili , and sugar from home. We made Achcharu right there in school and shared it with everyone. Those spicy, tangy bites tasted better than anything from the canteen.

But we had our sneaky food adventures too. The school was full of CCTV cameras, so before heading to the canteen, we had to do a full security check! We’d go up to the vice-rector pretending to talk, just to see if they were watching the cameras. If not, we’d make a run for it and get our snacks. Sometimes, instead of going to prayer, we’d stay in class, lock the door, and eat together in secret. That little act of rebellion made it all the more fun.
From celebrating Christmas, May Feast, Children’s Day,  hoisting flags for our school feast, every moment was colorful and full of joy. We loved decorating the classrooms, setting up Christmas trees, participating in nativity plays, and joining Christmas competitions with so much excitement.

"This Christmas photo was taken when we were hosting Christmas at school. Look how beautifully we decorated the school!"

On Children’s Day, we danced like monkeys with pure happiness, just letting our true souls shine. And the sports meet was another thrilling event we cheered loudly for our houses, ran relays, and laughed so much when someone tripped and rolled on the track but stood up with a big grin. Everyone had their own funny moment, whether running with their shoe flying off or carrying the baton the wrong way! The joy and team spirit were unmatched, and I truly miss those vibrant, laughter-filled school days.

These memories are more than just funny moments—they’re treasures I hold close to my heart. I really miss that era of pure joy and friendship. Life has moved on, but those silly, happy, heartwarming memories will always echo in my heart whenever I think of school.
