The Best Classmates I Ever Had - My Second  Family

More than friends, a family under one roof.”

Throughout school, I met so many classmates. Some came and went quietly. But there was one group, especially during my A/L years, that left an unforgettable mark on my heart. They weren’t just classmates. They were my second family.

We supported each other like siblings. We laughed together, cried together, and faced every challenge as one. Whenever someone had a problem, the whole class stood by them. During school functions, our class was always full because we had three top board members and many prefects. We planned, decorated, and organized everything right there, and yes, the class would end up looking like a mess. But if someone got free, they’d quietly start cleaning, and others would join in without being asked.

I still remember how they shared breakfast and lunch like one big family.Even during functions, they made sure no one started eating until everyone arrived. Sometimes the one is feeding to others as busier of others. That was the kind of unity we had.

In our free time, we sang, joked, and enjoyed every moment.

The boys always respected the girls and treated us like their own sisters. Gender never became a barrier to our friendship. We studied for exams together, got punished together, even skipped a few periods together. Sometimes we’d sneak off to pluck fruits from school trees or wander to the ground instead of going to class. When we stayed late at school, they entertained us and made sure we were never alone or tired.

We had so much fun preparing for Christmas competitions. One of my favorite memories was when we won a prize for our dance performance in the dance competition. I’ll never forget how much effort everyone put into that. Without my classmates, it would have been impossible. They helped us so much with organizing, practicing, and cheering us on.

We practiced in a hall in the upper section of the school. I still remember one day I forgot to inform our class teacher that we were going there, and she looked everywhere for us. Finally, she even made an announcement over the school media asking us to come see her.She had been so worried. That moment reminded me just how much she cared.

I was the class monitress, and if I succeeded in that role, it was only because of them. They helped me in everything and made my responsibilities so much easier. They were always there, ready to support and uplift one another.

What I loved most about my classmates was how we always stood by each other. If someone was sad, everyone noticed. If someone was sick, they were truly missed. And when exams came around, we helped each other ,even if it was just reminding someone, “Don’t forget, it’s exams today!”

Even now, when I think of school, it’s not the textbooks or blackboards that come to mind first, it’s them, my classmates. As 13s' , we had a lot of responsibilities, but we overcame everything by standing together. They truly made my school life colorful, joyful, and unforgettable.

Not just classmates — my safe place, my strength."
